You would think that after following every haunt hot guy could have been at, our path's would have crossed! Boy did Destiny have it's work cut out for them!
We weren't in the apartment to long before Michelle got married and moved out. I was the only one left but my part-time job wasn't enough so I had to move back into my parents. My boyfriend was on wespac at the time and was talking about proposing after he got back. I had plans to marry him, as he seemed "stable". A part of me did love him but he had a flaw that was difficult for me to over-look, he was very shallow. He was also planning a future of leaving the Navy and moving back to his home town in the Bay Area...where she was at.
After graduation, one of the students told me the facility he worked at had a position open. I also did my internship there so this was a plus. The kicker was they required a CNA license. By the time I was able to get it, the position was already filled and so they sent me to their other facility in downtown San Diego. I was still waiting to take my boards, but I was willing to work as a mental health worker until I got my license.
And here comes Destiny's final intervention....Matt!. Matt was another mental health worker at the facility I got hired on at. He was fun and charismatic. We hung out alot which made me start to realize that the person I was about to marry wasn't the one. I broke it off with my boyfriend and soon started dating Matt.
I finally met his parents and older brother and they fell in love with Nikki. They accepted both as part of the family right away. The seemed so close and I was really drawn to that as my family are close, just in a different way. Matt wanted me to hang out one day and I was so tired because I just ended an overnight shift. He said I could sleep for a few hours on his bed while he did chores. I agreed and went over there. I walked into his room, which was really cool because it had a sliding glass door to the pool area. But the energy was different then the rest of the house. It was so calm and comforting. I knew it wasn't Matt's because he ADHD became more apparent. Then I laid on the bed and I just sunk into it. Again, the energy felt so comfortable and ironically familiar. I felt like I belonged there. I could feel the energy just wrap around me like a warm soft blanket and it had to have been the best sleep I have ever had.
A couple of weeks later, Matt's younger brother's band was playing a show that he wanted to take me to. We met them at the bank room and as soon I saw him, it was like I knew him. I didn't think he really noticed me at the time as the band seemed to be dealing with their own stuff, but he did, he felt it to.
